Requirements to Volunteer
|
 Valid Naperville Public Library resident or fee card
- Volunteer for at least 5 weeks
- Attend a mandatory orientation
- Entering 6th through 12th grades
Registration Information

- Register at the Library and department where you plan to volunteer
- Bring your library card
Important Dates

- Thursday, May 1: Applications are available in all three library locations
- Monday, May 19: Sign-up begins
- Saturday, June 7: Deadline to sign up as an Older Reading Buddy

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
|
|
STARS Children’s - (Sunday, June 8 –
Sunday, August 3, 2008)
|
- Register student participants in the Children’s Department
- Volunteer for 2 hours each week
- Collect and distribute reading logs and prizes
Teen SRP– (Sunday, June 8 – Sunday, August 3, 2008)
|
- Register student participants in the Teen/Adult Services Department
- Volunteer for 2 hours each week
- Collect and distribute reading logs and prizes
Older Reading Buddy - (Monday, June 16-
Saturday, August 2, 2008)
|
- Paired with a student entering 2nd through 5th grade
- Choose a book together and alternate reading it with the Younger Reading Buddy
- Volunteer for 1 hour each week
Substitutes
|
- If you cannot participate for at least 5 weeks, you may
still sign up to be a substitute. Volunteers who want
additional volunteer hours may also sign up. Tell the staff
person at the registration table that you would like to be a
substitute.
