The staff of the Naperville Public Library strives to provide patrons with a highly
satisfying library experience. This involves using excellent customer service to maintain
a long-standing partnership between patrons and the Naperville Public Library.
- Library patrons receive prompt, friendly, courteous, and respectful service at all times.
- Library patrons are entitled to have the privacy of their library records and
information safeguarded by Library Staff.
- Library patrons are able to check out books and other materials, register for library
cards, and pay fines & fees without undue delays.
- Library patrons are entitled to equitable service regardless of age, gender, ethnicity,
religion, race, appearance or disability.
- Library patrons are entitled to an empowered staff to make the library system work for them.
- Library patrons' telephone calls are not transferred needlessly or left on hold.
- Library patrons are entitled to submit comments and suggestions about all materials
and services. They are entitled to timely responses.
- Library patrons are entitled to obtain accurate, timely, useful and current information.
- Library patrons are entitled to education about library procedures and services.
- Library patrons are entitled to individual, professional attention by trained, knowledgeable staff.
- Library patrons are entitled to a clean, comfortable, safe, and well-maintained library environment.
- Library patrons are entitled to an easy-to-use facility including orderly shelves,
prompt reshelving of materials, good lighting, proper signage, and equipment in good working order.
