Title: GraceLand
Author: Abani, Christopher
Summary: Set in Nigeria in the 70's and 80's, this novel chronicles the life of a Nigerian boy named Elvis, who makes money impersonating his namesake for tourists, and his harsh journey into adulthood. The book contrasts the fantasy of Western music and movies and the violence and chaos of Lagos's ghetto.


Title: Elvis in the Morning
Author: Buckley, William F.
Summary: Buckley's novel chronicles the fictional relationship between Elvis, then stationed in Germany, and Orson, a 15 year old German boy and his friend Priscilla, Elvis's future wife. The two men remain friends, though their lives diverge dramatically, paralleling the social change of the 50's and 60's.


Title: Almost Graceland
Author: Carlson, Steve
Summary: Steve Carlson's debut, a what if novel about Ray Johnston, an Elvis look-a-like, who claims to be Elvis's long lost twin. The book follows Ray as he discovers his connection with Elvis and the relationship the two begin to form, which is cut short by Elvis's death.


Title: Cat in a Jeweled Jumpsuit
Author: Douglas, Carole Nelson
Summary: Midnight Louie, feline detective, and his human partner, Temple Barr, are investigating reports of Elvis's ghost at a Las Vegas hotel. When the ghost turns up dead, people start to wonder if he was really the King, disguised as himself.


Title: Giving up the Ghost
Author: Chappell, Helen
Summary: An Elvis impersonater, in town for a contest, is murdered at a sleazy hotel. Crime reporter Hollis Ball's godfather, Albie Lydecker, is the main suspect. Ball, along with her dead ex-husband (in ghost form) attempt to solve the crime before Lydecker goes to jail. Chappell delights readers with her quirky characters and comical situations. Part of the Brillant Series.


Title: Such Vicious Minds
Author: Klein, Daniel
Summary: Someone has been disguising himself as Elvis and seducing young music fans, and the King wants to find out who it is. Along the way Elvis and his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, get caught up in a murder investigation l. Lots of characters and action make this an entertaining read!


Title: The Elvis and Marilyn Affair
Author: Levinson, Robert S.
Summary: Fast paced mystery set in Hollywood that revolves around a secret affair between Elvis and Marilyn Monroe during the filming of Love Me Tender in 1956 and a set of love letters they exchanged. Rich in Hollywood history, and a good murder mystery to boot!


Title: Elvis and Nixon
Author: Lowy, Jonathan
Summary: Jonathan Lowry's creative first novel is based on the true life meeting between Elvis and President Nixon. Here he examines what happened durring the weekend in December 1970 when a drugged-out, paranoid (and armed) Elvis escapes his handlers, flies to Washington D.C., and ultimately receives an honorary FBI narcotics agent badge.


Title: The Year the Music Changed
Author: Thomas, Diane Coulter
Summary: Fictional letters between a 20 year old Elvis and Achsa McEachern, a lonely 14 year old girl who finds solace in this up-and-coming country singer's music. The two create an intimate bond, sharing their fears, struggles and hope. A sweet coming of age story.


Title: Comeback Tour
Author: Yeovil, Jack
Summary: Elvis lives! He's a Sanctioned Ops agent fighting the KKK, swamp mutants and voodoo priests. Check out this (very) alternate reality created by Yeovil,the pen name of Bram Stoker Award winning Kim Newman.
